In Maths we will be using money, getting used to coins and notes and adding up different amounts. This will help us to understand the importance of counting coins correctly and thinking about how much change we get back when we spend money.
In the afternoon we will be exercising our bodies with some physical activities. This helps us to be strong, harness our energy and stay positive. In Phonics we will be recalling all of learning about the digraphs- ur, ow, ear and oi.

This week in Maths we are learning about positions and direction. When we do this we use “positional language”, words like, forwards, backwards, in front, behind, next to. We have lots of lovely ideas and lessons for you to help you use these words when you are talking about directions and positions.
In English we are learning how to extend our sentences using words like “because”. These words are called contractions and help us to write more interesting and informative sentences.
In the afternoons, we are continuing to learn Phonic digraphs and trigraphs. To help us to think about our actions, we are learning a song and dance about right and wrong. This will help us to take time to think about how our actions affect others. Don’t forget to keep watching the latest instalment of The Magic Faraway Tree read by Mrs Sanders.
